COPENHAGEN, Denmark (AP) — Denmark’s Queen Margrethe II, whose half-century reign makes her Europe’s longest-serving monarch, was discharged from a Copenhagen hospital Thursday after present process a again operation final week, the palace mentioned.
Medical doctors had been glad with the Feb. 22 operation and the situation of the 82-year-old queen, the royal family mentioned, including that “awaiting her now could be a prolonged bodily rehabilitation course of, which can prolong over the following few months.”
Earlier the palace had mentioned that the favored queen underwent “in depth again surgical procedure” on the Danish capital’s college hospital after experiencing extreme again pains.
A number of official engagements have both been postponed, canceled or are being dealt with by different members of the royal household.
The queen’s oldest son, inheritor to the throne Crown Prince Frederik, and his spouse, Crown Princess Mary, are stepping in, in addition to the queen’s sister, Princess Benedikte.
The Danish Structure provides Margrethe, Denmark’s head of state, no political energy, and her duties are ceremonial. She was proclaimed queen on Jan. 15, 1972, following the loss of life of her father.
