BJD declares fresh list of Lok Sabha, Assembly candidates

Bhubaneswar: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Thursday introduced the contemporary record of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls and Meeting elections.

BJD president and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in a video message declared the names of nominees for one Lok Sabha and 9 Meeting constituencies.

The occasion has nominated ex-Bharatiya Janata Occasion (BJP) chief Lekhashri Samantsinghar from Balasore Parliamentary constituency.

With the announcement of Samantsinghar’s candidature for the Balasore constituency on Thursday, the occasion has introduced candidates for all of the 21 Lok Sabha seats within the state.

Meeting seat candidates

The BJD additionally declared its candidates for 9 state Meeting constituencies within the state. The occasion has renominated 5 sitting MLAs whereas it fielded new faces within the 4 Meeting seats.

The occasion has renominated Braja Kishore Pradhan from Talcher Meeting section in Dhenkanal Lok Sabha constituency, Ananta Narayan Jena for Bhubaneswar central Meeting seat, Rohit Pujari on Rairkhol Vidhan Sabha seat in Sambalpur district, Prabhu Jani from Laxmipur Meeting section in Koraput Lok Sabha constituency and Chakramani Kanhar on Baliguda Meeting seat in Kandhamal district.

In the meantime, veteran chief Prasanna Acharya has been nominated for Sambalpur Meeting seat, whereas the occasion fielded Giitanjali Routray in Paradeep meeting seat, this time changing her husband and the sitting Paradeep MLA Sambit Routray.

The BJD has named Manorama Mohanty in Narla constituency in Kalahandi district, changing Bhupinder Singh.

Equally, Madhab Sardar has been fielded because the candidate for Telkoi Meeting section in Keonjhar Lok Sabha constituency instead of defector Premananda Nayak who just lately joined BJP after quitting BJD.

Nayak, the sitting Telkoi MLA together with BJP chief Arabinda Dhali have been disqualified by the Speaker Pramila Mallik from the state meeting on the bottom of defection on April 10.

The BJD is but to declare candidates for 30 extra constituencies out of the 147 Meeting seats within the state.
