Toronto Blue Jays reliever Erik Swanson lasted 17 pitches with triple-A Buffalo on Thursday in his second rehab outing.
Swanson, out with forearm tightness since mid-March, beforehand made one look, on Sunday at single-A Dunedin.
In Buffalo on Thursday, the 30-year-old right-hander confronted 4 batters within the fifth inning, giving up a run on a pair of singles, whereas inducing a pair of groundouts. Twelve of his 17 pitches have been for strikes.
He was changed by Hayden Juenger after permitting the second single.
That recreation noticed Ricky Tiedemann get the beginning for the Bisons, with the Jays’ high prospect giving up three hits and two runs over 3.2 innings of labor. The 21-year-old threw 73 pitches, 42 of them for strikes, whereas strolling three and hanging out seven batters.
