Town of Khan Younis is now unrecognisable after airstrikes, with 12,710 buildings destroyed
After Israel pulled again its forces from Khan Younis, the biggest metropolis in southern Gaza, on the weekend, civilians started to return. However following 4 months of conflict, the place they discovered was not the one they left.
“I couldn’t recognise the place,” a Palestinian humanitarian employee, who spoke on the situation of anonymity as a result of he was not authorised to talk with reporters, stated in a telephone interview. “Even the streets are not there.”
