Italy’s antitrust watchdog mentioned
Friday it has opened an investigation into the web lodge
reservation service Reserving.com for alleged abuse of a dominant
market place.
In an announcement the authority mentioned the probe is towards
Reserving.com (Italy) srl, Reserving.com B.V. and Reserving.com
Worldwide B.V.
Specifically, the service is alleged to offer some motels
benefits by way of visibility within the search leads to
trade for greater commissions and the dedication to supply
‘aggressive’ costs on Reserving.com and to use reductions on
costs discovered to be greater than these marketed for a similar
institution on different websites.
In response to the Authority, this technique is prone to hinder
efficient competitors at the least throughout the Italian market to the
detriment of different on-line lodge intermediation and reserving
companies, with adverse results on lodging services and,

On Thursday antitrust authority officers reportedly carried out
