LIMA – Peruvian Inside Minister Victor Torres introduced his resignation to reporters on Monday amid a political scandal involving alleged illicit enrichment by the nation’s president, who’s being investigated over use luxurious Rolex watches.
“I’m leaving in peace with my arms clear,” Torres informed reporters after a cupboard assembly on the authorities palace in Lima, saying his resignation was as a result of “household and well being points.”
Police and prosecutors raided President Dina Boluarte’s house and workplace over the weekend in search of proof of the origin of not less than three Rolex watches, in an investigation into alleged cash laundering and illicit enrichment.
