West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday, 11 April stated she won’t permit implementation of the CAA, NRC and the Uniform Civil Code within the state.

Addressing a gathering on the event of Eid-ul-Fitr, she claimed that some individuals will attempt to “engineer riots” throughout elections and urged those that participated within the programme “to not fall prey to the plot”.

Eid-ul-Fitr marks the fruits of the fasting month of Ramzan.

“We won’t settle for the Citizenship (Modification) Act, Nationwide Register of Residents and Uniform Civil Code. If we’ll reside unitedly, no one will be capable of trigger hurt to us,” Banerjee stated whereas addressing the gathering on the Purple Street.
